Congressman Chaka Fattah (PA-2), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, met with statewide and regional leaders on October 18 to discuss the current state of affordable housing in Philadelphia and eastern Pennsylvania and ways in which the future funding and supply of affordable housing stock can be enhanced. The meeting was held at the headquarters of People’s Emergency Center, a long-time stakeholder in FHLBank Pittsburgh’s Affordable Housing Program.

Congressman John Carney (D-DE), a member of the House Financial Services Committee, met with members of the First State’s housing community on August 26. The topic of discussion was affordable housing and its role in stabilizing neighborhoods. The roundtable was co-hosted by the Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) and FHLBank Pittsburgh.

FHLBank Pittsburgh and PHFA held a roundtable discussion with Congressman Tim Holden (PA-17) on August 16. FHLBank members and affordable housing advocates from central and northeastern Pennsylvania were represented at the gathering held in Pottsville. Subjects ranged from the future of America’s housing agencies and the role of the government in mortgage finance to available funding for affordable housing. FHLBank's government relations director, Peter Knight, led the animated discussion.
